What do home color trends have to do with your floral centerpiece designs? Color schemes largely dictate what style, color, design, and texture of floral centerpiece design will complement your room the best. And, just like clothing, furniture, and other accents, they change frequently as home decor trends change.
Gone are the days of white walls, neutral furniture, and minimal decor. Today, people want color, texture, boldness, individuality, and uniqueness in their home decor and floral centerpiece designs and are searching out ways to get exactly that result. Since it's not cost effective to consistently be changing furniture, entertainment centers, and larger room fixtures most of us will change the "feel" of our room by varying our accent pieces or accessories in the room. That includes flower arrangements, artwork, wall hangings, picture frames, pottery pieces, antiques, and many other decorative items we've collected over the years. We will also change the color of our rooms which will dictate what type of accessories we'll add back into the room.
Color trends are important in that they give us information on what will be popular in the coming season and what we should "plan for" in terms of seeing new paint colors, furniture colors, and floral arrangement colors in the market. We've made several custom designs based on upcoming color trends, and we've pictured a few here.
The Color Trends for 2007 are exciting and comforting hues for the home. Trend summary highlights about color hues appropriate for all areas of the home of living can be divided into 3 categories:
Comfort Colors
Biscuit and wheat neutrals, cocoa brown, pumpkin orange and cinnamon apple pie, are just a few of the comfort colors that will wrap your room with warmth and promote a stress-free space. The comfort color palette is an especially good choice for kitchens and family rooms.
To complement this color palette I would recommend a mostly neutral floral centerpiece design including light and dark neutrals, light and dark green foliages, and splashes of your "comfort color" through the addition of accessories (jewels or Swarovski crystals) and silk flowers in a stylish container. Another idea...add a complementary color in the arrangement to really "play off" your room color and accent the floral centerpiece.
Back to Nature
Yellows and blues, leaf-like greens, along with organic browns combine to bring the outdoors in. Add translucency and a glass like quality by incorporating varying paint sheen levels. As a subtle accent color, add rust or copper-like metallics into he scheme. Bedroom and bathrooms are perfect places to incorporate the back to natural hues or in rooms where an accent room is deployed.
This type of color scheme is begging for a bold floral centerpiece design! You can go with any color silk flower and make the arrangement as varied in color as you'd like or vary the texture with flowers and accessories. If you prefer minimalistic pieces, single orchids make a great modern statement as well.
Stark Contrast
From clean, clear reds and deep plums to the sophistication of black and white, this color group works both as an accent and as an elegant backdrop for many living spaces. Polished brass metallics complement this scheme. Dining, living rooms and especially powder rooms will benefit from this bold and spicy palette.
Go bold with this type of décor with a floral centerpiece design that’s beautiful, interesting, and incorporates metallics into the piece through the container or other accessories.
